The janitorial maintenance worker ensures the cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of buildings through routine cleaning, minor repairs, and facility maintenance tasks.
Full-time position, Monday-Friday, flexible schedule required, including occasional evening or weekend hours to perform job duties. Salary range: $40,000 – $48,000 per year plus a generous benefit package.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing floors and surfaces
- Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms, including replenishing paper products, soaps, and air fresheners
- Wash windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces
- Collect and dispose of trash and recycling, maintaining proper waste management
- Conduct minor maintenance and repairs, such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging toilets, and fixing minor plumbing or electrical issues
- Perform seasonal or periodic tasks, including waxing floors, trimming shrubs, snow removal, and inspecting utilities like smoke detectors and HVAC systems
- Ensure building security by locking and unlocking doors and monitoring facility access
- Maintain janitorial supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage and inventory management
- Follow safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment
Skills
- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, janitorial equipment, and minor maintenance procedures
- Physical stamina to lift supplies, move equipment, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks
