Director – Before & After School Program

The Women and Families Center is seeking a Director to oversee the functions of the Before & After School Program. This is an EXEMPT position, generous benefit package included, competitive salary based on educational background.

The Director will be responsible for maintaining the Before and After Program sites in accordance with the Center’s philosophy, through planning, communication, and organization with Head Teachers, Teaching Assistants, parents, and children.

SALARY: $40,000 – $55,000 plus a generous benefits package

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain B&A sites according to State Licensing Regulations and accreditation standards.
• Recruit families to program and maintain enrollment.
• Develop lesson plans (including developmentally appropriate programming).
• Maintain accurate records for children and staff members.
• Conduct parent conferences and communicate as needed with parents.
• Maintain accurate records for children and team members.
• Participate in center and Board of Education/school activities, including fundraising events, open houses, and parent events.
• Enter information into ProCare and TransAct program software.
• Ensure fees are properly accounted for and update information with Chief Executive Officer.
• Implementation of Program Budget.
• Train, coach and supervise Head Teachers and Site Assistants.
• Meet all program reporting requirements and submit required quarterly and other written reports to Chief Executive Director.
• Uphold all obligations of being a mandated reporter.
• Establish goals for each child. Complete annual evaluations for children.
• Develop and maintain relationships with program parents.
• Attend required trainings.
• Maintain program grants as applicable.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Related field may be considered.
• Must have Connecticut Head Teacher Certificate (school age).
• At least 2 years of formal work experience with young children.
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Must acquire and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
